Our Story of Love and Destiny
Our shared adventures, laughter, and moments of profound connection have woven a tapestry of love that transcends time and space. As we stand on the threshold of our Anniversary ceremony, we invite you to join us in celebrating not only the love we’ve found but also the incredible journey.
Our Journey of Love
As we stand on the threshold of forever, we invite you to join us in celebrating a love story that has been years in the making. Our journey of love is a testament to the beauty of two souls finding one another in a world filled with serendipity and purpose.
A love ordained by God—shaped by grace, strengthened through growth, and overflowing with gratitude.
For years, we attended the same church without ever crossing paths. Then one summer
Sunday, by divine arrangement, we found ourselves seated next to each other. During the moment of sharing peace, I gently tapped the man who would one day become my husband—Lucas—who, on that particular morning, had dozed off in church after a late night out. His nieces and nephews, amused by the scene, immediately began calling me “Aunty Pa.” Their playful teasing continued for some time.
Lucas, however, hesitated to approach me. My petite appearance at the time led him to believe I was under 18. It wasn’t until one Sunday when he saw our family doctor offer me a lift that a spark of jealousy finally gave him the courage to pursue my heart. With sincerity and determination, he won not only my affection but also the blessings of my parents and siblings.
Yet, at that time, I wasn’t ready for a new relationship, and I turned him down repeatedly. But when the world stepped into a new decade, I opened my heart—and allowed him to become the man God destined for me.
Having experienced the challenges of studying in French and leaving my university programme, I found myself uncertain about continuing my education. Lucas understood the value of education deeply. His advice, encouragement, and unwavering belief in me inspired me to return to school and resit my A Levels—something no one expected, given how stubborn I had been in my teenage years. By God’s grace, I excelled and secured the results needed to gain admission to a UK university.
Through his support, and with God’s strength, I went on to obtain both a degree and a master’s degree in social work—all while raising our growing family.
Today, we are blessed with ten beautiful children with each one a precious source of pride and joy. What makes this year even more extraordinary is that God has made it possible for all our children to finally live with us in the UK. This is why today is not just a celebration—but a triple celebration.
We are deeply grateful to God for the grace upon our lives. Our greatest desire has always been to make an impact, and we thank God for fulfilling the desires of our hearts. We are grateful for the family we have built and the life we continue to shape together.
Through the years, we have cultivated a bond grounded in mutual love, sacrifice, and unwavering faith. Our journey has not been without its trials, but we have remained committed choosing to grow, laugh, heal, and choose each other every single day with grace and patience.
The time we have shared is a blessing we cherish profoundly. We look at each other with gratitude and love, continually praying that God’s hand guides us always.
Indeed, God has been faithful.
Mama Princess’s story:
The story of a young girl who learned to bloom everywhere she goes.
From the very beginning,my world was rarely stable. The early years of my life, shaped this very moments. New school, new classroom, new faces. Just when I learned the rhythm of one place, life would gently ask me to begin again. For a child, that type of instability could have been overwhelming. It could have planted fear or doubt. But I chose something else. Every new school became an opportunity to grow rather than an opportunity to shrink. I learned to walk into unfamiliar spaces with courage, how to introduce myself with kindness and how to turn strangers into friends. Being the “new girl” taught me empathy early. It taught me how to listen and to adapt and how to see beauty in differences. With each move, I gathered strength. I discovered that changing environment doesn’t mean losing myself-it meant discovering new sides of whom I was. Each school added a layer to my confidence. Each new group of friends widened my heart instead of resenting change, I used it as a bridge to be understanding people and the world around me. And through all the changes, one dream remained steady. I knew I wanted to help others and create a positive impact in my community. At one point, I had my life set on dentistry, but the Lord had other plans and led me to pharmacy and Sunderland which allowed me to meet a beautiful community outside of home. While school changed and community shifted, my purpose stayed firm. I was drawn to science, to healing and to the idea of being someone others could rely on in moments of need. That dream became my anchor. My constant in a world that had taught me how to move. So, I worked relentlessly.
I studied through uncertainty especially around Covid 19. I carried my ambition with me wherever I went. The resilience that helped me settle in a new environment also helped me master demanding course work. The positivity that helped me to make friends also helped me to overcome challenges and setback.
I never lost my light. Today I stand as a pharmacist -not just as someone who has achieved a career goal, but as a symbol of perseverance and grace. My achievement is proof that a humble beginning does not limit the future. I turned instability into strength, movement into growth and challenges into purpose. I didn’t just adapt into change, but I used it to achieve my goal.
Proverb 3:5-6 (KJV)
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy path “
A tribute to our daughter Mama Princess:
Mama Princess, our precious daughter. This is us-your parents speaking quietly, from the deepest place in our hearts.
You were born in Paris, into humble beginning, and from the moment we held you, we knew your path would not follow an easy path. We did not always have the words then, but we felt it. Still, we felt something else, your calm strength, your warmth, your ability to bring light into every space you entered.
When you began nursery in Paris and started to speak French, fluently, we watched you
blossom with pride. And then far too soon, we had to ask you to let go of that world and begin over again in England. You were so small. A new country. A new language. A new nursery. Our hearts were heavy with worry but yours was open and brave. It was in that first nursery in England that you met Judith. You and Judith were the only black children in that nursery and in that unfamiliar territory, you found each other. That shared understanding, that quiet recognition, became the foundation of a friendship that has lasted a lifetime. Even then, you knew how to connect deeply, how to hold on to people who matter. Your story cannot be told without her, because she was there at the very beginning of your journey in England-walking besides you when everything else felt new.
Soon after another move come, another house moves, another school, and another beginning. Each time, we wondered how much more a child could be asked to carry, and yet, you carried it with grace. You didn’t harden; you didn’t withdraw. You stayed open hearted.
Then came six years of stability and we watched you truly glow into yourself. You found your confidence, your voice, and your joy. And when secondary school brough four more school moves we watched you do something extraordinary-you kept on choosing light, kindness and you kept on choosing hope. Mama Princess, amongst your friends, you became the glue.
Mama Princess, you are the one who bring people together, who noticed when someone is quiet, who create warmth where there could be distance. Your presence brings, joy, comfort and laughter. People feel safe around you. They feel seen. That is a gift no textbook can teach, and it is one you have carried since when you were very young. Every school, every new environment, some how gained something because you were there.
When you moved to college and later gained admission into the school of pharmacist in Sunderland, we saw the full picture came together. All the strength. All the adaptability. All the compassion. You were ready not only academically but as a person.
Your determination did not stop with you. You unknowingly paved a path for your siblings. By watching you, they learned what courage looks like. They learned that even when life keeps moving you around, you can still move forward with purpose. You showed them the way by simply being yourself.
Mama Princess, you are not only our pride, but you are also our joy. You are proof that humble beginning can lead to extraordinary outcomes. That instability can produce deep rooted strength. That kindness when chosen again and again, becomes a legacy.
We look at you, and we see every classroom, every move, every tear, every smile and we know it was not all in vain. You didn’t just grow up navigating the world. You grew into someone who made the world gentler for others. And we love you more than words can ever fully say.
